The role will focus on supporting and developing programmes for Early Years education while fostering collaboration with centres, families, and stakeholders.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;In the final year of MQF Level 6 (at least 180 ECTS) in Education (including Early Years Education), Psychology, Social Sciences, or equivalent (chosen employee must successfully complete studies by the end of probation); &lt;strong&gt;and&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a service-related field. Direct experience in early years education or programme management is considered an asset.Valid driving licence and own vehicle;&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;5. Ability to communicate effectively (spoken and written) in Maltese and English;&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Accountability:&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;br&gt;The post-holder shall be accountable to the Head and Manager of the Programmes Department.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt;General Role:&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;br&gt;The Programme Coordinator – Early Years Education, will support the design, development, and delivery of &lt;em&gt;p&lt;/em&gt;rogrammes focused on early childhood development (0 to 3 years), ensuring that they meet the national standards, and focus on addressing the development of children with the use of child-led approach, as well as families, and educators. The Programme Coordinator will provide guidance, professional development, and technical assistance to the centres’ staff and relevant partners to promote high-quality early years programmes.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Specific Responsibilities&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Under the direction of the Head and Manager – Programmes Department, and/or their delegate, the Programme Coordinator shall:&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;ul&gt;
&lt;li&gt;Assist in developing, coordinating, and implementing early years education programmes in line with national standards and educational policies.&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;Identify opportunities for new initiatives or improvements in early years’ service provision, including pedagogies and programmes that address gaps in support for children at risk of educational or social exclusion.&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;Support the design, development, and evaluation of operational research and data collection to monitor programme effectiveness and impact.&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;Conduct research and data analysis to inform programme improvement and development.&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;Facilitate meetings, workshops, and seminars with staff, stakeholders, and families to improve programme quality and delivery.&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;Collaborate with community centres, educational institutions, public agencies, and child-focused initiatives to strengthen partnerships and programme outcomes.&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;Support strategic planning for early years programmes, contributing to long-term development goals.&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;Conduct regular visits to centres to monitor programme quality, provide guidance, and ensure safe and engaging learning environments.&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;Provide leadership in child-centred, age-appropriate, play-based pedagogy by guiding, and mentoring staff to implement high-quality practices aligned with national policy standards&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;Ensure activities are inclusive, engaging, and valuable to children and their families.&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;Promote parental engagement and family participation in children’s learning and development.&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;Participate in cross-sector projects, school-linked initiatives, and other collaborative efforts with government entities or community partners.&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;Contribute to the FES Annual Report, documenting progress, outcomes, and impact of early years programmes.&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;Provide professional development, performance assessment, mentoring, and technical assistance to centre coordinators and staff to enhance programme delivery.&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;Assist in staff recruitment on interviewing boards within the remit of the role.&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;Undertake any other tasks assigned by the Head and Manager of the Programmes Department and/or their delegate, in line with organisational needs.&lt;/li&gt;

&lt;p&gt;The Childcare Educator has the responsibility to meet the individual children’s needs, through play and learning opportunities and general care. &lt;li&gt;Takes appropriate action (as defined by Centre’s policies and procedures) in cases of emergency, urgent matters or abuse.&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;Understands and promotes inclusion and equality policies and procedures.&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;Where appropriate, supports and works with other professionals.&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;Documents and reports information as assigned by Childcare Centre Coordinator or other professionals.&lt;/li&gt;
