&lt;p&gt;JOB SUMMARY &lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;The Demi Chef de Partie supports the Chef de Partie and Junior Chef de Partie in the preparation, cooking, and presentation of dishes within an assigned kitchen section. This role focuses on developing technical cooking skills, consistency, and operational understanding while contributing to the smooth daily running of the section. The Demi Chef de Partie plays an important role in maintaining food quality, hygiene standards, and efficiency, while continuing professional development within the kitchen brigade. &lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES &lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Food Preparation &amp;amp; Cooking • Prepare, cook, and present dishes according to set recipes and hotel standards, under supervision. • Assist with chopping, mixing, and preparation of ingredients within the section. • Maintain consistency in presentation, portioning, and quality. Section Support &amp;amp; Operations • Support the Chef de Partie in managing the assigned kitchen section. • Assist with mise-en-place and ensure readiness for service. • Coordinate with other sections to support smooth service flow. Menu Execution &amp;amp; Learning • Assist in executing menu items and implementing dish updates. • Learn new techniques, recipes, and processes introduced within the section. • Contribute ideas for improving presentation and workflow where appropriate. Inventory, Hygiene &amp;amp; Equipment • Assist in monitoring stock levels and reporting shortages. • Follow correct storage, labelling, and waste disposal procedures. • Maintain cleanliness, hygiene, and safety standards within the section. • Support proper care and use of kitchen equipment. Teamwork &amp;amp; Development • Work collaboratively with kitchen colleagues. • Support and assist Demi Chefs and Commis Chefs where required. • Actively participate in on-the-job learning and skill development.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;QUALIFICATIONS &lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;• Experience as a Commis Chef or equivalent kitchen role. • Culinary training or certification considered an asset. • Basic understanding of food safety, hygiene, and kitchen best practices. &lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES &lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;• Developing technical cooking and food preparation skills. • Good organisational abilities and attention to detail. • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced kitchen environment. • Willingness to learn and take direction. • Strong teamwork and communication skills. • Time-management skills and reliability. &lt;/p&gt;
