&lt;p&gt;- Ensure that all Personal lines Underwriting decisions are made accurately and in a timely manner.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;- Reviewing personal lines proposals, conducting risk assessments and making underwriting decisions in line with the Agency&#039;s guidelines.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;- Ensure that all Personal lines enquiries are recorded and chased effectively.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;- To ensure that any assigned reports, processes and statistics are always up to date and delivered within agreed timeframes.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;- Collaborate with other departments, such as claims, to ensure that personal lines underwriting aligns with overall business goals.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;- Stay informed about changes in regulations, industry trends and best practices, propose to management any improvements to processes and procedures to maintain efficiency.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;- Provide effective, necessary support to clients, staff and intermediaries to ensure that quotes / policies / changes / renewals are authorised in an efficient and timely manner within the same working day, unless the risk is of a complex nature, in such circumstances proper feedback is to be given.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;- Give excellent customer service to clients and intermediaries and achieve an overall 90% rating of excellent or satisfied from direct clients and intermediaries.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;- Maintain up-to-date records and documentation for streamlined operations.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;- Assist with other related activities as needed to support agency objectives.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;- Communicate effectively and professionally with other staff members, clients and external parties, using appropriate language, tone and etiquette in verbal and written communication.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;- To follow and comply with all guides and procedures, including rules and legislation that govern insurance, including but not limited to the Conduct of Business Rulebook.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;- Flag with management pertinent requests, issues or complaints from clients / intermediaries / staff immediately.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;- Any other task assigned by management.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;Thomas Smith Insurance Agency Ltd is seeking to employ a &lt;strong&gt;&lt;em&gt;Claims Handler (Full-time and Part-time) &lt;/em&gt;&lt;/strong&gt;focusing on Personal Lines especially Motor Insurance Claims.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Responsibilities:&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;ul&gt;
&lt;li&gt;Handle and manage allocated insurance claims from first notification to final settlement.&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;Ensure all claims are registered accurately and within company defined timeframes.&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;Review policy cover, endorsements, excesses and liability position prior to processing claims.&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;Maintain accurate and up-to-date file notes, reserves and correspondence on the insurance system.&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;Ensure all incoming correspondence and emails are actioned promptly.&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;Liaise with clients, brokers, intermediaries, surveyors, repairers and insurers in a professional and timely manner.&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;Prepare and process payment adjustments accurately and within agreed timelines.&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;Follow up and pursue all possible recovery opportunities in accordance with company procedures.&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;Ensure compliance with company procedures, principals’ guidelines and regulatory obligations.&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;Escalate complaints, complex matters or potential fraudulent claims to management immediately.&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;Assist walk-in clients and handle telephone calls in a professional and efficient manner.&lt;/li&gt;

&lt;p&gt;The ideal candidate will be expected to:&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;li&gt;Have a minimum of 2 years’ experience in local motor insurance, other classes of insurance will be considered&lt;/li&gt;
