Position: Part-time Accountant

Cassar Fuel Ltd is seeking a talented accountant to join our reputable company and play a key role in driving financial excellence.

Responsibilities:

1. Financial Leadership:

· Oversee and manage all aspects of financial operations.

· Develop and maintain financial policies and procedures to ensure compliance and efficiency.

· Liaising with external bodies including but not limited to regulatory authorities and external auditors.

· Provide strategic financial insights to support decision-making processes.

2. Budgeting and forecasting:

· Lead the budgeting and forecasting processes.

· Analyse financial data to identify trends and areas for improvement.

· Collaborate with departments heads to ensure accurate budget allocations.

3. Financial Reporting:

· Preparation of Vat returns.

· Prepare necessary reconciliation.

· Prepare accurate and timely financial statements.

· Preparing monthly management accounts within strict deadlines.

· Present financial reports to executive leadership, highlighting key performance indicators and financial health.

· Clients bookkeeping and general accounting services.

4. Risk Management:

· Implement robust internal controls to mitigate financial risks.

· Stay informed about industry trends and regulatory changes affecting financial operations.

5. Team Collaboration:

· Work closely with cross-functional teams to streamline financial processes.

· Mentor and develop financial team members.

Requirements for the role:

· Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting/ ACCA or mid-way through the ACCA qualification.

· Proven experience as Accountant or similar role in dynamic industry.

· Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial regulations.

· Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

· Advanced proficiency in Microsoft world, Microsoft Excel and Outlook.

· Effective communication and leadership abilities.

· The ability to meet deadlines.
