Role Overview
\nThe Accountant (Internal Accounts) will be responsible for managing the internal bookkeeping, accounting, and corporate compliance requirements of the company. This role requires a detail-oriented and proactive individual with a strong background in accounting who can ensure accurate financial reporting and compliance. Working closely with senior management, the Accountant (Internal Accounts) will contribute to the company’s operational efficiency and financial integrity.
Key Responsibilities
\n\n• Financial Management: Maintain accurate financial records, including bank reconciliations, debtor chasing, and issuing debtor reports.
\n• Financial Reporting: Prepare and deliver management accounts, annual financial statements, and tax returns.
\n• VAT Compliance: Assist with VAT return preparation and timely filing.
\n• Audit Coordination: Liaise with auditors and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
\n• Process Improvement: Identify and implement process enhancements to improve financial efficiency.
Qualifications, Skills, and Attributes
\n\n• Education: Possession of or working towards an accounting qualification such as ACCA, or an advanced diploma in accounting.
\n• Experience: Minimum of two years in an accounting role, preferably within an accounting or corporate services firm, or a similar role in an international company.
\n• Language Skills: Excellent command of English is required. The ability to communicate in Maltese would be an asset.
\n• Communication Skills: Strong ability to articulate financial matters clearly to various stakeholders.
\n• Interpersonal Skills: Ability to work collaboratively within a team while maintaining independence in assigned responsibilities.
\n• Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Word, Excel, and Outlook; experience with accounting software such as Xero would be advantageous.
\n• Organisation: Strong ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines effectively.
\n• Self-Motivated: Proactive and results-driven approach with a strong sense of initiative.
\n• Problem-Solving: Analytical thinker with the capability to find effective solutions to challenges.
