Role Overview \nThe Business Intelligence Developer will design, build, and optimise on-premise data warehouses and datamarts, applying advanced data modelling, ETL processes, and SQL techniques. The role contributes to enhancing the reliability, performance, and overall effectiveness of the Company’s business intelligence solutions, supporting key strategic and operational decision-making.

Key Responsibilities
\n\n
\n\t
Design & Architecture: Participate actively in the planning and architecture of ETLs and data models, ensuring security, maintainability, and optimal performance, while providing technical BI guidance to the team.
\n\t
Support & Maintenance: Oversee BI support requirements, addressing both in-house developments and external vendor interactions to maintain smooth operations.
\n\t
Problem-Solving & Mentorship: Resolve complex BI challenges and propose innovative solutions, while mentoring junior BI Developers and sharing best practices.
\n\t
Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional and multidisciplinary teams to ensure successful project outcomes and alignment with organisational objectives.
\n\t
Project Delivery: Support the IT delivery lifecycle for Business Intelligence initiatives, including larger-scale and critical projects, managing pipeline development from planning through deployment.
\n\t
Stakeholder Engagement: Communicate technical solutions effectively with stakeholders, providing actionable insights that drive informed decision-making and project success.

Qualifications, Skills, and Attributes
\n\n
\n\t
Education: MQF Level 5 Diploma in Data Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field, as well as 3 years work experience in a Data Engineering role; or MQF Level 6 Bachelor’s Degree in Data Engineering, Computer Science or related field with 1 year work experience in related role; or 4 years of proven work experience in Data Engineering, data warehousing and BI methodologies. Candidates with BI related certifications will be given preference.

Language Skills: Excellent command of English is required; Maltese communication skills are an asset.
\n\t
Communication Skills: Clear, concise, and effective communication with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
\n\t
Interpersonal Skills: Ability to collaborate effectively across diverse teams, mentoring peers and building positive working relationships.
\n\t
Technical Skills: Expertise in ETL/ELT processes, SQL and query optimisation, data modelling, database management, data visualisation, and BI tools. Familiarity with cloud platforms, big data technologies, and data governance principles.
\n\t
Organisation: Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities efficiently.
\n\t
Self-Motivated: Proactive and hands-on, demonstrating commitment, initiative, and a passion for emerging BI technologies.
