The business operates from a major showroom, with stores and offices and has grown steadily in the last two decades to become one of Malta’s leading suppliers. It serves professional project managers, architects, engineers, electricians and the general public. With a strong track record, a long list of completed projects and a portfolio of some of the major top-tier brands in the industry, the company is recognised for keeping a wide range of stock and focuses on strong rapport and customer service. \n \nRole Overview \nHeroix is working closely with this trusted Maltese supplier to appoint a Chief Operations Officer (COO). This senior role will carry full operational responsibility for the business, reporting directly to the Directors. The COO will oversee day‑to‑day operations across sales, technical support, logistics and stores and will be expected to modernise processes, strengthen competitive positioning and drive growth in both Malta and Gozo. Knowledge of the electrical distribution sector is key for success in this role. \n \nKey Responsibilities\n\n

Strategic and Operational Leadership: Develop and implement operational plans aligned with the company’s vision; steer the company towards continued growth and improved efficiency.
\n\t
Sales and Business Development: Lead retail and wholesale sales to shops, contractors and tenders; identify new opportunities and maintain relationships with professional clients and public authorities.
\n\t
Supply Chain & Logistics Management: Oversee procurement, inventory, warehousing and delivery (including a small fleet); ensure showrooms and stores remain well-stocked and deliveries are timely.
\n\t
Project & Tender Management: Coordinate responses to government and private tenders, ensuring technically sound and commercially competitive submissions.
\n\t
Team Leadership: Manage and motivate staff in sales, back‑office technical support, stores and delivery; build capability through coaching and training.
\n\t
Process Improvement & Digital Transformation: Introduce systems that improve stock control, customer relationship management and operational efficiency; benchmark operations against industry leaders.
\n\t
Stakeholder Relations: Maintain strong links with international suppliers, brand partners and customers; work closely with the finance team while not directly managing accounts.
\n\t
Quality, Compliance & Safety: Ensure adherence to electrical standards, health and safety regulations and company policies.

Qualifications, Skills and Attributes

\n\t
Education: Degree‑level qualification in business, engineering, management or a related field. Candidates with substantial & proven industry experience will be considered as well.
\n\t
Industry Knowledge: Deep understanding of electrical and lighting products and the Maltese market; familiarity with B2B sales and tender processes.
\n\t
Experience: Senior leadership experience in operations, supply chain or sales within distribution or related sectors; track record of modernising processes and managing multi‑disciplinary teams.
\n\t
Leadership: Ability to inspire, develop and retain staff; strong interpersonal and communication skills.
\n\t
Commercial Acumen: Strategic thinking and financial awareness to drive profitability and business growth.
