About This Job
Location: Malta (Hybrid: Remote / On-site). Relocation required if not currently based in Malta.
Start Date: January 2027
Type: Full-time
Seniority: Mid-Level, with a fast track to Content Lead
About StudiesIn
We are an Angel and VC-backed company entering a massive scaling phase. StudiesIn is transitioning from a tech-led agency model into a high-tech, global platform. We connect international students with their ideal universities and consultants, leveraging AI tools and a decentralized network of international consultants.
About the Role
We are looking for a Content Marketing Specialist to become the first content hire in Malta and the engine behind how students discover StudiesIn. You will own our content engine: short-form video, website articles, webinars and our weekly newsletter, from first idea to published, measured result.
Claude and other AI tools are part of your team. You use them to research, draft and repurpose at speed, and you bring the storytelling, judgment and on-camera presence AI can't.
We are scaling with technology, not just headcount. You will help build an AI-powered content machine: testing formats, automating workflows and turning what students search for and ask about into content that converts.
If you love creating content as much as you love seeing it perform, this is your opportunity to help build a content function from day one.
The role starts hands-on, but it is built to scale. As we grow, you will brief and manage freelancers and help hire the next content creators.
You will support us through the next months during rebranding, platform relaunch, and expansion into new markets.
This is a partly entrepreneurial role. We are looking for a data-driven self-starter with ideas and an A/B testing mentality. We expect you to max out your StudiesIn Claude subscription and get work done, fast.
This role is not for you if you are waiting for the monthly paycheck and clock out at 5pm every day.
What you'll do
- Create Short-Form Video: Script, film, edit and publish Reels, TikToks, Shorts and LinkedIn videos that make students stop scrolling.
- Produce SEO Content with AI: Source topics, interview students and experts, and turn them into AI-assisted articles that rank and convert.
- Run Our Webinars: Organize webinars end to end, moderate live sessions and lead the Q&A with our expert education consultants and university representatives, then promote them and cut the recordings into clips.
- Own the Newsletter: Plan, write and send our weekly email newsletter, and test subject lines, formats and calls to action.
- Repurpose Everything: Turn every interview, article and webinar into posts, emails and clips across our channels.
- Build Community and Reputation: Reply to comments and messages, and manage our reviews so every student feels heard.
- Measure and Improve: Own the content calendar, track performance and report monthly on what works and what you would change.
- Improve the Machine: Build templates, prompt libraries and automations that let us produce more without losing quality.
What we're looking for
- Experience: 2-3 years in content, social media or digital marketing. Experience in EdTech, study abroad or international education is a massive plus.
- Eligibility & Location: Must hold unrestricted EU work authorization (e.g., EU citizenship) to legally work in Malta without sponsorship. You must be currently based in Malta or willing to relocate by January 2027.
- Creator Skills: Strong short-form video editing (CapCut, Premiere or similar) and advanced Canva skills.
- On-Camera Confidence: You are comfortable on video, interviewing students and experts, and moderating a live audience.
- The Performance Mindset: You know your numbers without looking: your best-performing video, your average engagement rate, the article that brought in the most traffic. You test, learn and iterate.
- Tech & AI Savvy: Highly comfortable with AI tools. You use them to work faster, not to think for you, and you enjoy building and testing new workflows and automations. Experience with SEO, WordPress, analytics or email tools is a plus.
- Growth Potential: You want to grow into a Content Lead role, and you are ready to brief and manage freelancers.
- Languages: Native or highly fluent English (written and spoken) is required. Spanish is a strong asset, and additional languages are a plus.
What we offer
- Ground-Floor Opportunity: Be the first content hire on our team in Malta, with a clear path to Content Lead as the team grows.
- Competitive salary and performance bonuses.
- Flexible Hybrid Model: A mix of remote work and collaborative days in our Malta office. Post onboarding you can create your own flexible schedule. What matters is your output and results, not a 9-5 work routine.
- Continuous Growth: Work side by side with our CMO and learn how a startup's marketing is built from the ground up. Expect real responsibility, fast feedback and hands-on experience with cutting-edge AI and content tools.
- Impact: You will help international students change their lives through global education.
How to Apply
Apply via JobHound with your CV, a portfolio with at least three short-form videos and two Canva designs, and 3-5 sentences on the content piece you're proudest of and why it worked.
Our process: a 30-min call, a portfolio review with our CMO, a practical task (a short video edit and an article brief), a conversation with our operations lead, and a final conversation. You hear back from us within 72 hours at every step.
Tip: A human will review your application and we use real people for our interviews. If we spot an AI-generated cover letter or generic application, it will receive an AI-generated rejection. Keep it real and authentic!
