Role Overview The Customs Clearance Executive will be responsible for ensuring smooth and efficient customs clearance processes for both import and export shipments. This role requires meticulous attention to detail, excellent organisational skills, and the ability to thrive in a team-oriented environment.
Key Responsibilities
Customs Documentation: Prepare and process customs documentation for imports and exports to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
Customs Declarations: Accurately process declarations using the Malta Customs online system (CES).
Client & Agent Liaison: Serve as a primary point of contact for clients and agents, maintaining high standards of customer service and satisfaction.
Internal Coordination: Work closely with internal teams to ensure timely delivery of shipments and effective communication across departments.
Administrative Support: Conduct miscellaneous administrative duties, including handling customer queries, filing, and assisting with daily tasks.
Intrastat Inputting: Ensure accuracy in the inputting of Intrastat data for compliance purposes.
Invoicing: Issue invoices accurately and efficiently.
Qualifications, Skills, and Attributes
Experience: A background in customs clearance or experience in the shipping industry is preferred; familiarity with customs procedures is an asset.
Language Skills: Excellent command of English is required. Fluency in Maltese is essential for this role.
Communication Skills: Effective verbal and written communication skills, with a focus on customer service and professional telephone handling.
Interpersonal Skills: Ability to build positive relationships with clients and colleagues, showing empathy and a service-oriented mindset.
Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, CES, and other standard office applications.
Organisation: Strong organisational skills and the ability to multitask effectively.
Self-Motivated: Demonstrates initiative and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
Problem-Solving: Able to work under pressure and meet deadlines while maintaining high attention to detail.
