The FIAU is seeking to strengthen its Data Management & Analytics section through the recruitment of a Data Analyst. The section is tasked with:
The administration of the Centralised Bank Account Register (CBAR) - a data collection and retrieval system for information on bank accounts
The management of data as a valuable asset from which the FIAU can derive ongoing insight
The analysis of data across different domains to support in the compilation of statistics and to determine cross-sectoral ML/FT risks
The Role
As a Data Analyst within the Data Management & Analytics section, the candidate will be responsible to assist in the overall operations of this section. This may include:
Actively contributing to projects relating to: - data quality, analysis, and BI dashboarding -system implementations and enhancements -development of FIAU’s AML/CFT risk model
Applying statistical techniques to support in risk analysis and decision-making processes
Effectively communicating insights derived from data analysis exercises through reports and presentations
Sharing knowledge within team and serve as a reference point to junior staff or newer recruits
Building strong relationships with stakeholders within and outside the organisation to understand end-user requirements, use cases, and identify avenues where the section can add value
Promoting best practices in data management across the organisation
Requirements
An MQF Level 6 qualification in business, banking, technology, mathematics, statistics, or any other qualification coupled with at least 3 years’ experience relevant to this post OR
An MQF Level 5 qualification in business, banking, technology, mathematics, statistics, or any other qualification coupled with at least 4 years’ work experience relevant to this post.
Practical experience in gathering, organising, analysing and visualising data with attention to detail and accuracy;
Excellent communication skills, including the ability to communicate technical information to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Proficient understanding of statistical concepts and methodologies
Work experience in one of the following domains: service management, product ownership, AML, compliance, or risk management
Qualifications or certifications in one of the following areas: risk analytics, data mining (e.g., R or Python), data visualisation / analysis (e.g., Power BI or Tableau) or service management (e.g., ITIL)
Conversant with database concepts and queries
The chosen person is required to work in a highly secure and monitored environment in relation to data access.
