The FIAU is seeking to strengthen its Data Management & Analytics section through the recruitment of a Product Owner. The section is tasked with:
The administration of the Centralised Bank Account Register (CBAR) - a data collection and retrieval system for information on bank accounts
The management of data as an asset from which the FIAU can derive ongoing insight
The analysis of data across different domains to support in the compilation of statistics and risk analysis
The Role
As an Analytics Lead within the Data Management & Analytics section, the candidate will be responsible to take ownership of data analytics initiatives and other related projects. This may include:
Design and maintain interactive dashboards and reports that meet user requirements through data visualisation tools
Work closely with data engineers to define data requirements and optimise data pipelines
Leverage statistical techniques to derive actionable insights, uncover data trends, and inform strategic decisions
Develop a high-level understanding of ML/FT risks to maximise use of data within national and sectoral risk assessments
Communicate data-driven insights and contextual information to a wide range of audiences
Explore potential applications of AI and other advancements in analytics to improve business processes and decision-making through research, proof of concepts, and pilot projects
Collaborate with the in-house technology team, system owners, and other stakeholders in line with section’s remit
Provide direction and mentorship to direct reports and other team members as necessary
Maintain up to date documentation to ensure clarity, support troubleshooting, and facilitate knowledge sharing
Qualifications & Requirements
An MQF Level 6 qualification in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, Analytics or other relevant fields, coupled with at least 5 years’ experience relevant to this post (including 1 year in a Senior role; or
An MQF Level 5 qualification in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, Analytics or other relevant fields coupled with at least 7 years’ work experience relevant to this post
Advanced knowledge of analytical tools or languages, preferably Power BI and / or Python (including related libraries such as Pandas)
Experience in the application of mathematics and statistics, including, modelling techniques such as regression and classification
Experience working with large datasets
Proficiency in AML/CFT principles, processes, and solutions
Excellent communication and presentation skills
Proficiency in AI and machine learning principles and use-cases
Comfortable with SQL querying and database principles
Experience in coaching and mentoring junior members of the team
