Role Overview \nOur Client is seeking a highly experienced Data Governance Specialist to join its Data Office. The successful candidate will lead efforts to design and implement data governance strategies, frameworks, and policies that support business objectives and regulatory compliance. This pivotal role requires cross-functional collaboration to ensure data integrity, improve quality, and unlock the strategic value of data across the organisation.

Key Responsibilities

Policy Implementation: Develop and maintain data governance standards, procedures, and best practices aligned with organisational goals and regulatory frameworks.
\n\t
Data Stewardship Oversight: Establish and coordinate data stewardship programmes across departments, ensuring effective execution of data responsibilities.
\n\t
Compliance Monitoring: Track data quality and governance adherence across the data lifecycle, reporting gaps and coordinating remediation plans with relevant stakeholders.
\n\t
Metadata Management: Oversee the organisation and maintenance of metadata through data catalogue tools, supporting business units in the accurate mapping of data elements and domains.
\n\t
Training & Support: Deliver training sessions and provide ongoing guidance to data stewards and other data-handling personnel to promote a culture of accountability and quality.

Qualifications, Skills, and Attributes
\n\n
\n\t
Education: A minimum of an MQF Level 6 Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or a related field.
\n\t
Experience: At least 6 years in Information Management, including 4 years in Data Governance, with demonstrated success managing projects and working with senior stakeholders.
\n\t
Language Skills: Excellent command of English is required to succeed in this role.
\n\t
Communication Skills: Strong ability to convey complex data concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
\n\t
Interpersonal Skills: Skilled in stakeholder management and cross-functional collaboration across various teams.
\n\t
Technical Skills: Proficiency with data catalogue tools and metadata systems; familiarity with SQL or Python is desirable.
\n\t
Organisation: Demonstrates excellent planning and time management skills, with the ability to juggle multiple tasks effectively.

Self-Motivated: Proactive, driven, and capable of working independently with minimal supervision.
\n\t
Problem-Solving: Analytical thinker with a solution-oriented approach to identifying data issues and remediation strategies.
