Part-Time Deli & Cheese Counter Assistant (Evenings)

Position: Part-Time

Working Hours: 4:00 PM – 10:00 PM (Evening shifts)

About the Role

We are looking for a reliable, customer-focused team member to manage our deli and cheese counter during evening shifts. If you have a passion for artisanal food, experience handling cold cuts and gourmet cheeses, and enjoy engaging with customers, we would love to have you on our team.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee and maintain the deli and cheese counter, ensuring attractive presentation, rotation, and high cleanliness standards.
• Skillfully operate commercial deli slicers to prepare cured meats (salumi) and cheeses to customer specifications.
• Prepare fresh, high-quality gourmet panini and sharing platters.
• Provide friendly, attentive customer service, offering recommendations and pairings.
• Adhere strictly to food hygiene, sanitation, and safety regulations at all times.
• Restock display cases and complete end-of-shift cleaning and closing duties.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Certification: Must hold a valid Food Handling Certificate (Category B).
• Experience: Proven experience operating a deli slicer and handling delicate cheeses and charcuterie.
• Languages: Fluency in English is essential. Proficiency in Italian and/or Maltese is strongly preferred.
• Skills: Strong attention to detail, hygienic working habits, and solid customer care skills.
• Availability: Punctual and able to consistently commit to evening shifts (4:00 PM – 10:00 PM).
