About This Job

Position Overview

Responsible for safe, efficient operation of C1-category vehicles to support company operations, deliveries, and on-site tasks. Maintain vehicle condition, follow schedules and routes, and represent the organization professionally when interacting with clients and colleagues.

Key Responsibilities

- Drive company vehicles in compliance with road regulations, company policies, and safety procedures.

- Transport goods and personnel reliably according to schedules, routes, and delivery instructions.

- Perform pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections, report defects, and ensure routine vehicle maintenance and cleanliness.

- Load and unload cargo safely, securing items to prevent damage or loss during transit.

- Complete and maintain trip documentation, delivery receipts, logbooks, and incident reports accurately and promptly.

- Coordinate with dispatch and supervisors to receive instructions, update ETAs, and report delays or issues.

- Adhere to health and safety standards including proper use of PPE and safe manual handling techniques.

- Represent the organization professionally when interacting with customers, subcontractors, and the public.

- Respond appropriately to roadside incidents or emergencies, following company protocols and contacting emergency services when necessary.

Skills and Qualifications

- Valid C1 driving licence with no serious endorsements and eligible to operate C1-category vehicles.

- Minimum associate-level experience in professional driving or related operational role.

- Good working knowledge of local roads, routes, and traffic laws.

- Basic vehicle maintenance knowledge and ability to conduct safety checks.

- Competent in reading and completing delivery paperwork; basic numeracy skills.

- Ability to lift and handle cargo safely (physical fitness for manual handling).

- Punctual, reliable, and able to work onsite on a full-time schedule.

- Professional communication skills in English (limited working proficiency accepted); ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions.

- Strong time-management, route-planning, and problem-solving abilities.

- Positive attitude, customer-focused, and able to work independently or as part of a team.

Desirable

- Defensive driving training or certifications.

- Familiarity with GPS and basic vehicle telematics or courier/delivery apps.
