Role Overview \nThe Finance Manager will play a pivotal role in overseeing the financial operations of specific business units within the Group. Reporting to the Group Chief Financial Officer, this position ensures the accuracy and integrity of financial reporting, compliance with accounting standards, and the delivery of insightful financial analysis to support the organisation’s strategic objectives. The role also includes team supervision, performance monitoring, and active collaboration with operational departments to optimise business performance.

Key Responsibilities
\n\n

Financial Management: Oversee daily accounting operations, including reconciliations, accruals, prepayments, and the preparation of monthly financial statements.
\n\t
Reporting and Compliance: Prepare and submit VAT returns, Eco Contribution returns, and other statutory financial reports in line with local regulations.
\n\t
Management Reporting: Produce timely and accurate monthly management accounts and support senior leadership with detailed financial insights and performance metrics.
\n\t
Budgeting and Forecasting: Contribute to the preparation of annual budgets and monthly forecasts, offering data-driven recommendations to achieve business goals.
\n\t
Team Leadership: Mentor and guide junior members of the finance team, promoting a culture of continuous improvement and professional development.
\n\t
Operational Collaboration: Work closely with operational departments to analyse KPIs, implement cost-control strategies, and enhance profitability.
\n\t
Audit and Cash Flow: Support the external audit process and monitor cash flow, ensuring adequate liquidity and effective credit control.
\n\t
Ad Hoc Duties: Undertake additional assignments or act as Duty Manager when required, maintaining operational excellence across all functions.

Qualifications, Skills, and Attributes
\n\n
\n\t
Education: Professional accounting qualification (Master’s in Accounting, ACCA, ACA, CPA, or equivalent).
\n\t
Experience: Demonstrated experience in financial management and reporting, ideally within the hospitality or entertainment sector.
\n\t
Language Skills: Excellent command of English is required to succeed in this role. The ability to communicate in Maltese would be an asset.
\n\t
Communication Skills: Strong ability to present complex financial data clearly and persuasively to both finance and non-finance stakeholders.
\n\t
Interpersonal Skills: Collaborative approach with the ability to engage effectively across multiple departments and levels.
\n\t
Technical Skills: Proficiency in accounting systems; experience with Shireburn Financial Management, Opera PMS, and Simphony is considered an advantage.
\n\t
Organisation: Exceptional attention to detail and the ability to manage competing priorities effectively.
\n\t
Self-Motivated: Proactive and results-driven, demonstrating ownership and accountability for achieving objectives.
\n\t
Problem-Solving: Analytical mindset with the capacity to identify issues, evaluate options, and implement practical financial solutions.
