Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced, strategic, and results-driven General Manager to lead and oversee all aspects of the company’s operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for strategic leadership, and lead a team to ensure safety and regulatory compliance, operational performance, financial management, human resource oversight, and environmental response management.
The role requires strong maritime expertise, leadership capability, and a commitment to ensuring safe and efficient maritime operations.
Key Accountabilities.
· Drive the company’s vision, growth strategy, and long-term commercial success.
· Lead ISO implementation and ensure full compliance with international maritime regulations.
· Oversee statutory certification, class compliance, and PSC readiness across the fleet.
· Supervise daily vessel operations, dry dockings, and fleet performance optimisation.
· Manage recruitment, contracts, workforce planning, and crew immigration compliance.
· Strengthen competency standards through structured training and STCW compliance.
· Oversee warehouses, logistics, inventory control, and operational supply continuity.
· Lead negotiation and management of charter, supplier, and client contracts.
· Control budgets, capital expenditure, profitability, and key commercial relationships.
· Act as Incident Commander for oil spills and lead environmental emergency response readiness.
Qualifications & Experience
· Degree in Maritime Studies, Shipping Management, Business Administration, or related field.
· Completion of Marine training as per STCW to be considered an advantage.
· Minimum 5 years of senior maritime management experience.
· Strong knowledge of international maritime regulations, certification, and environmental compliance.
· Proven leadership, strategic planning, and decision-making ability.
· Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
