Role Overview

As the Human Resources Business Partner, you will play a critical role in enhancing our Client's HR function by driving employee engagement initiatives, supporting organisational development, and ensuring the smooth execution of HR processes. You will be instrumental in fostering a positive workplace culture and supporting the HR team in key areas such as performance management, employee relations, and policy development.

Key Responsibilities

Employer Branding: Support employer branding efforts to position the company as an employer of choice.
\n\t
Employee Value Proposition (EVP) (including Well-Being): Enhance and communicate the company's EVP to attract and retain top talent, with a focus on well-being initiatives.
\n\t
Employee Surveys & Focus Groups: Design, distribute, and analyse employee surveys and conduct focus groups to gauge employee satisfaction and engagement.
\n\t
Preparation / HRUpdating of Policies: Develop and update HR policies to ensure compliance with legal requirements and alignment with best practices.
\n\t
Performance Appraisals: Coordinate and support the performance appraisal process, ensuring timely and effective evaluations.
\n\t
Performance Improvement Plans: Assist in the development and implementation of performance improvement plans for underperforming employees.
\n\t
Probation Reviews: Oversee probation review processes, providing guidance to managers and ensuring alignment with company objectives.
Company & Departmental Org Charts: Maintain and update organisational charts to reflect changes in structure.
\n\t
Job Descriptions: Prepare and update job descriptions to ensure clarity in roles and responsibilities.
\n\t
Suggestion Scheme: Manage and promote the company's suggestion scheme, encouraging innovative ideas from employees.
\n\t
Recognition: Develop and implement employee recognition programs to boost morale and acknowledge contributions.
\n\t
Collective Agreement (CA) Negotiation Support: Provide administrative and analytical support during CA negotiations.
\n\t
Onboarding Follow-Up Meetings: Ensure new hires have a seamless transition into the company by conducting follow-up meetings and addressing any concerns.
\n\t
Exit Interviews: Conduct comprehensive exit interviews, analyse feedback, and provide actionable insights to improve employee retention.
\n\t
Sick Leave Interviews: Manage and conduct sick leave interviews to ensure the well-being of employees and compliance with company policies.
\n\t
Discipline & Grievances: Assist in handling disciplinary actions and grievance procedures, ensuring fair and consistent application of policies.
\n\t
Industrial Relations Support: Provide support in managing industrial relations, including liaising with unions and assisting in negotiations.

Qualifications, Skills and Attributes
\n\n
\n
\n\t
Education: Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Organisational Development, or a related field. Master's level would be an asset.
\n\t
Experience: Strong experience in HR functions, particularly in employee engagement and organisational development.
\n\t
Communication: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a proven ability to manage sensitive situations with discretion.
\n\t
Knowledge: Knowledge of Maltese labour laws and industrial relations.
\n\t
Policy Development: Demonstrated experience in policy development and performance management.
\n\t
Proficiency: Proficiency in conducting employee surveys, focus groups, and 360° feedback processes.
