Role Overview

The ICT Operations Senior Manager will play a pivotal role in overseeing the smooth running of IT systems, ensuring optimal performance, and implementing innovative technological solutions. This position demands strong leadership, a keen understanding of ICT systems, and a proactive approach to system management and security.

Key Responsibilities

IT Systems Management: Ensure the efficient operation and continuity of IT systems and operations.
Information Security: Oversee the adoption and implementation of comprehensive security practices across all ICT operations.
ICT Policies and Procedures: Develop and maintain policies and procedures for IT system configurations, operations, and data management.
Technological Innovation: Identify and implement opportunities for technology-driven improvements.
Process Optimisation: Collaborate with various departments to enhance processes and automation efforts.
Hardware and Software Procurement: Manage the procurement, deployment, and maintenance of hardware and software resources.
Technical Support: Provide ongoing technical support to ensure business continuity of ICT services.
ICT Inventory Management: Maintain and manage the ICT inventory.
System Monitoring and Backup: Ensure reliable system performance and manage system backups/restores.
User Account Management: Create and maintain user accounts with appropriate privileges.
Security Measures: Implement and uphold robust security protocols to protect sensitive data.
Documentation: Maintain up-to-date documentation of systems and configurations.
Training and Development: Offer basic training to end-users and engage in continuous self-development.
Ad-hoc Responsibilities: Perform additional duties as assigned by the Head of IT or the Chief Technology Officer.

Qualifications, Skills, and Attributes
\n
Experience: A minimum of 6 years of relevant work experience in ICT, with at least 3 years in a similar role within a mature ICT environment. A degree (MQF Level 6 or higher) in ICT, Computer Science/Engineering, or an equivalent is required. Candidates with 15 years of experience without formal qualifications will also be considered.
Language Skills: Excellent command of English is required, and the ability to communicate in Maltese is an asset.
Communication Skills: Strong communication abilities with the capacity to liaise effectively with various departments.
Interpersonal Skills: A team player with the ability to work across different functions and departments.
Technical Skills: Extensive knowledge of virtualisation, Azure Services, Windows Platforms, Microsoft Suite, Windows Servers, and Microsoft Services.
Organisation: Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritise effectively, and meet deadlines.
Self-Motivated: A proactive individual with high professional and personal standards.
Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills, with a hands-on approach to resolving technical issues.
