Role Overview \nThe IT Infrastructure Engineer is responsible for maintaining and supporting the Company’s on-premise and cloud-based IT infrastructure. This role involves implementing system upgrades, troubleshooting technical issues, and contributing to optimisation projects to ensure the seamless operation of IT services.

Key Responsibilities
\n\n
\n\t
Infrastructure Management: Handle and maintain enterprise-level IT systems, including servers, virtualization platforms, and cloud solutions.
\n\t
System Maintenance: Perform system upgrades, patching, and backups to ensure reliability and security.
\n\t
Performance Monitoring: Monitor infrastructure performance and resolve issues proactively to minimise downtime.
\n\t
Project Collaboration: Work alongside senior IT infrastructure engineers on design and implementation initiatives.
\n\t
Cloud & Virtualisation Support: Support virtualization environments and cloud services, ensuring operational efficiency.
\n\t
Policy & Documentation: Contribute to the development and enforcement of IT policies, document changes, and maintain an updated knowledge base for systems and procedures.
\n\t
On-Call Readiness: Participate in a 24/7 operational environment on a roster basis, providing on-call support as required.

Qualifications, Skills, and Attributes
\n\n
\n\t
Education: MQF Level 5 Qualification in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related area and 3 years work experience, or MQF Level 6 Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field with 1 year work experience; or 4 years proven work experience in IT.
\n\t
Desirable qualifications: MQF Level 4 in Pure Mathematics. Certifications in IT Infrastructure such as Microsoft Fundamentals, Microsoft Azure, and Linux Foundation Certification.
\n\t
Experience: Minimum one year proven work experience in an enterprise IT environment; preference given to candidates meeting the higher educational criteria.
\n\t
Language Skills: Excellent command of English; Maltese communication skills are an advantage.
\n\t
Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively convey technical information.
\n\t
Interpersonal Skills: Assertive, confident, and able to collaborate within a team while working independently.
\n\t
Technical Skills: Proficient in cloud fundamentals, cybersecurity principles, databases, networking, operating systems, scripting, storage technologies, virtualisation, and system/network monitoring tools.
\n\t
Organisation: Ability to prioritise tasks and manage multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.
\n\t
Self-Motivated: Proactive, hands-on approach with initiative and minimal supervision required.
\n\t
Problem-Solving: Strong analytical skills to investigate, troubleshoot, and resolve infrastructure issues efficiently.
