Role Overview
\nThe Junior IT Technician will provide technical support to the organisation, working closely with senior IT staff to maintain and troubleshoot computer hardware, software, and network systems. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of operating systems, hardware components, and network protocols and will contribute to the effective functioning of IT services.
Key Responsibilities
\n\n• Technical Support: Deliver day-to-day IT and desktop support via telephone, email, remotely, or on-site.
\n• Installation and Configuration: Install and configure computer hardware, software, and peripheral devices.
\n• Maintenance and Troubleshooting: Assist in the maintenance and troubleshooting of computer systems, printers, servers, and other network equipment.
\n• User Assistance: Respond to user requests for technical assistance and resolve issues in a timely manner following established procedures and SLAs.
\n• End-User Support: Provide end-user support for all software applications, including email and other communication tools.
\n• Documentation: Document all technical support activities and update knowledge base.
Qualifications, Skills, and Attributes
\n\n• Education: IT-related diploma or higher certification.
\n• Experience: 1-2 years of experience in technical support or a related field.
\n• Language Skills: Excellent command of English is required. Knowledge of Maltese is considered an asset.
\n• Communication Skills: Strong communication skills, able to assist users effectively.
\n• Interpersonal Skills: Ability to work well in a team environment and independently when necessary.
\n• Technical Skills: Familiarity with Windows and Mac operating systems; knowledge of computer hardware components and troubleshooting.
\n• Organisation: Strong organisational skills with attention to detail.
\n• Self-Motivated: Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
\n• Problem-Solving: Excellent problem-solving skills to address technical issues quickly and efficiently.
\n• Driving Licence: A valid driving licence is required.
\n• Personnel Security Clearance: Must meet the requirement of attaining a Personnel Security Clearance certificate, applicable in Malta. This certificate can only be processed for individuals from an EU Member State or those residing in the Maltese islands for the past five years.
