Medelec Switchgear Ltd with over 45 years’ experience in the design and manufacture of air insulated Medium voltage switchgears, Compact and Mobile substations, Control panels, Low Voltage distribution boards and Automatic Voltage Regulators and the manufacture of Gas insulated switchgear and Ring Main Units is seeking to recruit a Logistics Officer.
The selected candidate will be responsible to plan and manage logistics, stores and shipping of the company's raw material and finished stocks.
Responsibilities:
- Manage an inventory information system to monitor inventory levels and issue purchase requests when required.
- Coordinate and optimize the full order cycle.
- Manage stores warehouse and allocate stores work force according to production demands.
- Issue shipping instructions to ensure deliveries arrive on time and to their correct location including tracking of goods enroute to their destination.
- Liaise with accounts for the preparation of invoices ensuring shipping costs are calculated accurately and passed onto customers.
- Negotiate rates with suppliers such as carriers, warehouse operators and insurance companies.
- Supervise, coach and train stores workforce.
- Maintain and analyze data to assess performance.
- Comply with laws, regulations and ISO requirements.
- Recommend potential improvements to better improve the efficiency of the department.
Requirements:
- Diploma level in management or a related subject (MQF Level 4).
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a similar environment will be considered in lieu of the qualification required.
- Be a self-starter and work under own initiative with minimal supervision.
- Excel in analytical, problem solving and organisational skills.
- Have good computer skills.
- Have good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Be able to handle pressure and possibly tackle multiple issues at once.
