
About This Job
The role of Maintenance Manager is a crucial position, responsible for ensuring that all hotel facilities and equipment are kept in optimal working condition. This position oversees general maintenance, repairs, and preventative upkeep, ensuring seamless operations and guest satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
- Facility Maintenance and Repairs
Supervise the Maintenance team in carrying out general repairs and preventative maintenance.
Ensure all guest bedrooms, front-of-house, and back-of-house areas are properly maintained.
Oversee the upkeep of heating, ventilating, and air conditioning systems.
Coordinate with external contractors and review their work before approval.
Maintain firefighting equipment and ensure emergency procedures are followed.
Ensure plant rooms and workshops are kept orderly and clean.
Manage access and control of master keys in line with security policies.
Support the hotel's energy conservation program and cost efficiency initiatives. - Budget and Compliance
Prepare and manage the department’s operating and capital expenditure budgets.
Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations and hotel standards.
Maintain records of maintenance work, inspections, and compliance documents.
Report defects in buildings, plants, or equipment according to company procedures. - Operational Support
Work closely with the Hotel Manager and Heads of Department to ensure smooth operations.
Provide technical support and guidance to other departments.
Ensure a flexible work schedule to maintain uninterrupted hotel services
Health and Safety
This role requires compliance with health and safety regulations including:
- Aware of and comply with safe working practices as stipulated by the Health and Safety Act, and as applicable to your place of work. This will include the incumbent’s awareness of any specific hazards at the workplace.
- Lead and support initiatives promoting sustainability and Health and Safety, ensuring compliance with environmental regulations and workplace safety standards while fostering a culture of responsible practices across the organisation
- Wearing of appropriate protective clothing provided by or recommended by the company will be obligatory
- To report and defects in the building, plant or equipment according to company procedures
- To ensure that any accidents to the team, guests or visitors are reported immediately in accordance with the correct procedures
- To attend and complete statutory Fire, Health and Safety training, and to be fully conversant with and abide by the rules concerning
Fire, Health and Safety
Regulations, such as COHSS in the European Union, relating to controls of substance hazardous to health
