About This Job
The Maintenance Person is responsible for the upkeep, repair, and general maintenance of the facility and its systems. This role involves troubleshooting and fixing issues with electrical, plumbing, HVAC systems, and other mechanical systems, ensuring safety and compliance with regulations. The Maintenance Person will also handle preventive maintenance tasks to avoid future breakdowns, respond to maintenance requests, and assist with the overall upkeep of the property.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform routine preventive maintenance on building systems, machinery, and equipment.
- Diagnose and repair electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and mechanical issues within the facility.
- Respond to maintenance requests from management and staff in a timely manner.
- Assist in setting up rooms or spaces for events and meetings, including moving furniture or equipment as needed.
- Monitor and report on the condition of the facility, including wear and tear, and recommend future repairs or improvements.
- Perform minor carpentry, painting, and drywall repairs as required.
- Ensure proper storage and inventory of tools, supplies, and materials.
- Conduct regular inspections of the facility to identify maintenance needs and safety concerns.
- Respond to emergency situations promptly and carry out repairs as needed.
Qualifications and Skills:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Relevant training and certification is a plus.
- Proven experience in building maintenance, repair, or a related field.
- Knowledge of electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and mechanical systems. Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical manuals.
- Capable of lifting heavy objects, standing, bending, and working in various environmental conditions.
- Relevant certifications in areas like HVAC, plumbing, or electrical work are a plus.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and prioritize repairs based on urgency.
