The Falzon Group of Companies is a leading company in the local fuel industry. We supply a vital service to local and international companies through oil bunkering, fuel distribution, waste oil management and terminal operations.
SL Shipping Management Company Limited, a company in the Falzon Group of Companies, is looking for an experienced Marine Engineer to join its dynamic marine division.
Key Responsibilities:
- To assist in ensuring that vessels are maintained and operated safely and efficiently
- To participate in all vessel maintenance programmes
- To process vessels’ technical requests to ensure timely delivery
- To participate in dry dockings when requested
- To be responsible for purchasing of technical items as required by the Fleet
- To assist in the planning and implementation of the company’s Safety Management System on the vessels
- To assist in ensuring that all vessels are in compliance with the Safety Management System and with Port and Flag State regimes
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Naval Architecture, or a related field
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar role within the maritime/shipping industry
- In-depth knowledge of maritime regulations and standards would be an asset
Skills and Competences:
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Excellent communication and leadership skills
- Ability to work effectively under pressure within a fast-paced environment
- Proficiency in relevant software and tools
