- Conduct routine maintenance and inspections on various trucks, heavy plant machinery and other equipment used day-to-day operations, to prevent breakdowns and ensure longevity. - Diagnose mechanical issues and troubleshoot problems efficiently to minimize downtime. - Repair and replace defective parts and components using appropriate tools and techniques. - Maintain accurate records of maintenance and repair activities, including parts used and time spent on repairs. - Collaborate with other team members to ensure a smooth workflow and efficient operations. - Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines to maintain a safe working environment. - Assist in the installation of new machinery and equipment as required. - Stay updated with the latest industry trends and advancements in mechanical systems. \r\n
Skills and Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a mechanic, preferably in an industrial or construction setting. - Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, including engines, hydraulics, and pneumatic systems. - Proficient in the use of hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment. - Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics. - Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. - Good communication skills in Maltese or English, with the ability to work effectively in a team. - Relevant certifications or vocational training in mechanics or related fields is a plus. - Strong commitment to safety and quality standards in all tasks performed.
