About the Role
We are looking for an MEP Team Leader to bridge the gap between high-level management and active on-site execution. This is a strictly hands-on, working role where you will lead from the front, working directly alongside your team and sub-contractors on-site to drive installations forward. Reporting directly to the M&E Manager, you will take ownership, together with other Team Leaders, of a cluster of 25 to 30 active construction sites across Malta, ensuring mechanical, electrical, and plumbing works are delivered seamlessly.
Key Responsibilities
Site Leadership & Hands-on Execution
- Lead from the front by actively participating in and overseeing day-to-day MEP installations on-site.
- Manage and work directly alongside on-site technical teams, direct labour, and sub-contractors to ensure optimal productivity and high quality.
- Provide direct technical guidance and troubleshoot installation issues on the ground as they happen.
Quality Control & Compliance
- Drive the physical progress of MEP works, verifying that all plumbing, electrical, and mechanical installations meet strict technical specifications.
- Ensure all site works comply perfectly with approved engineering layouts, architectural plans, and local Maltese building regulations.
- Enforce a culture of zero compromises on safety, strictly upholding OHSA regulations across all your assigned sites.
Coordination & Progress Programming
- Collaborate closely with Finishes Team Leaders to coordinate daily tasks, manage dependencies, and prevent trade conflicts.
- Monitor intermediate project milestones, manage site resources efficiently, and proactively resolve site constraints before they affect the schedule.
- Conduct regular site inspections and provide clear, structured progress metrics and material updates to the M&E Manager.
What We're Looking For
- A minimum of 10 years of proven, hands-on project experience as a Team Leader in MEP installations, specifically within a contracting or construction site environment.
- A technical qualification in electrical installation, coupled with a proven field leadership experience.
- A strong ability to read, interpret, and analyze technical engineering drawings to guide precise physical installations.
- Robust, practical understanding of electrical distribution and mechanical services.
- Strong organizational and leadership skills, with the ability to handle several projects at once.
- Good command of English to effectively communicate with clients, architects, and multi-national site crews. Knowledge of Maltese is considered an asset.
- Full driving licence to travel efficiently between multiple active sites across Malta.
- An asset: possession of Enemalta License A and B.
