About This Job

We are building a team of Mystery Shoppers to help our clients see their customer service through the eyes of the people they serve.

The Role

As a Mystery Shopper, you will visit shops, offices, restaurants and other service outlets across Malta and Gozo as an ordinary customer. Some assignments will also involve phone calls, emails or online enquiries. You’ll follow a set brief, observe how you are served and report back on what you experienced, accurately and objectively.

Assignments are offered on a freelance basis, so the work fits around your existing commitments. You will receive full training before you start and a clear brief before every assignment.

Responsibilities

· Carry out visits, calls and online enquiries as an ordinary customer, following the brief for each assignment

· Observe service standards such as staff behaviour, product knowledge, waiting times and the condition of the premises

· Keep your role confidential before, during and after each assignment

· Complete a clear, factual report soon after each assignment, usually through an online form

· Keep receipts, photos or other evidence where the brief asks for them

· Meet agreed deadlines and keep the project coordinator updated

What we’re looking for

· A sharp eye for detail and a good memory for what was said and done

· The ability to write clear, honest and objective reports

· Discretion, reliability and respect for confidentiality

· Confidence in speaking naturally to staff while keeping to the brief

· Flexibility to take on assignments on weekdays, evenings or weekends

· A smartphone and regular internet access. Own transport is an asset.

· Previous experience in retail, hospitality or customer service is an asset, though not required

· Excellent command of the English and Maltese languages

· Applicants must be 18 years of age or older

What We Offer

· Flexible freelance work that fits around your schedule

· Payment per completed assignment, with rates agreed according to experience

· Full training and a clear brief before each assignment

· Varied assignments for clients ranging from retail to public services, covering both short and extended customer journeys

· The chance to work on further projects with IDEA Consulting as the team grows
