Role Overview \nThe NOC Engineer will play a pivotal role in maintaining and optimising the Company’s IT infrastructure and services. This position involves monitoring network systems, diagnosing disruptions, and ensuring high availability of critical applications. The role requires proactive problem-solving to prevent system failures and active collaboration with technical teams to support ongoing IT operations.

Key Responsibilities
\n\n
\n\t
Network Monitoring and Troubleshooting: Participate in the operation and oversight of network systems, servers, and applications to maintain optimal uptime. Identify and analyse outages, facilitating incident resolution with technical teams.
\n\t
Maintenance and Configuration: Assist in developing automation scripts for monitoring and troubleshooting tasks. Contribute to NOC workflows, escalation protocols, and standard operating procedures. Collaborate with team members on infrastructure projects and system upgrades.
\n\t
Documentation and Reporting: Prepare reports on network performance, outages, and operational metrics. Analyse monitored data to detect early warning indicators and potential system issues.
\n\t
Training and Support: Engage in hands-on learning under senior NOC engineers to acquire advanced technical knowledge. Participate in training programmes to enhance skills in IT infrastructure and monitoring technologies.
\n\t
Shift Flexibility: Demonstrate readiness to operate within a 24/7 shift roster as required by the business.

Qualifications, Skills, and Attributes
\n\n
\n\t
Education: MQF Level 5 Qualification in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, together with 3 years of work experience; or MQF Level 6 Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, together with 1 year of work experience. Candidates with no formal qualifications but having 4 years or more of related experience, will still be considered.
\n\t
Desirable qualifications: MQF Level 4 in Pure Mathematics. Relevant certifications such as Cisco CCNA/CCNP, ITIL, CompTIA Network +. Familiarity with disaster recovery is preferred.
\n\t
Experience: Minimum of three years’ experience in an Enterprise IT environment; prior NOC or IT engineering experience preferred.
\n\t
Language Skills: Excellent command of English is required; proficiency in Maltese is an asset.
\n\t
Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication abilities, capable of explaining technical issues clearly.
\n\t
Interpersonal Skills: Able to collaborate effectively with colleagues and cross-functional teams, demonstrating assertiveness and professionalism.
\n\t
Technical Skills: Knowledge of network monitoring tools (e.g., SolarWinds, PRTG, Nagios, Zabbix), system performance analysis, cloud fundamentals, virtualisation technologies, scripting, automation, and ITSM practices.
\n\t
Organisation: Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise multiple tasks and manage time efficiently.
\n\t
Self-Motivated: Proactive, hands-on, and capable of taking initiative with minimal supervision.
\n\t
Problem-Solving: Strong analytical skills to troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues.
