Role Overview \nThe Parks Operations Manager will play a key role in overseeing the upkeep, maintenance, and quality standards of public parks and green spaces. This role involves managing resources efficiently, ensuring the timely execution of maintenance initiatives, and supporting the development and implementation of preventive maintenance programs. The successful candidate will report directly to the Head Park Operations and will work closely with senior management and other key stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

Maintenance and Upkeep Management: Supervise and manage teams responsible for maintaining public parks, ensuring all work is carried out to the highest quality and safety standards.
\n\t
Preventive Maintenance Program: Assist in the development and execution of a preventive maintenance program aimed at improving the quality and accessibility of selected public spaces.
\n\t
Resource and Crisis Management: Oversee the preparation of specifications, cost estimates, and other relevant documents, ensuring proper resource allocation for both routine maintenance and crisis management when needed.
\n\t
Stakeholder Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders to facilitate the timely and efficient execution of the maintenance programs.
\n\t
Collaboration with Senior Management: Work closely with senior management to ensure alignment with organisational goals and provide necessary support for various operational needs.
\n

Qualifications, Skills, and Attributes
\n\n
\n\t
Education: A minimum of an MQF Level 5 qualification in Management or equivalent, as recognised by the MFHEA.
\n\t
Experience: At least two years of managerial experience in park management or a related field. Candidates with five years of managerial experience but without formal qualifications will also be considered.
\n\t
Language Skills: A good command of English is essential; knowledge of Maltese is an asset.
\n\t
Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively interact with teams and external stakeholders.
\n\t
Interpersonal Skills: Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to manage teams and collaborate with various stakeholders.
\n\t
Technical Skills: Knowledge of park management, maintenance practices, and resource management techniques.
\n\t
Organisation: Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and resources efficiently.
\n\t
Self-Motivated: A self-starter with a strong work ethic, able to work independently and take initiative.
\n\t
Problem-Solving: Strong problem-solving skills to manage challenges in park management and maintenance operations.
