Plant Engineer

Medichem Manufacturing (Malta) Ltd and Combino Pharm (Malta) Ltd form part of the Medichem group, a Spanish pharmaceutical organization which develops and manufactures both active pharmaceutical ingredients and finished dosage forms.

Medichem specialises in active pharmaceutical ingredients, while Combino Pharm is focused on solid oral generic pharmaceutical products. The organization provides high quality medicinal substances and products for the worldwide market, with special emphasis on Europe and the US.

We are currently looking for a new team member to join Combino Pharm in Malta, for the following Plant Engineer role:

Responsibilities and Functions:

· Manage/lead and/or support the implementation of company projects, ranging from facility upgrades to production/process upgrades, through various actions that include, but are not limited to, definition of the project, sourcing and discussions with suppliers and preparing detailed implementation plans for these projects.

· Ensure the upkeep of all equipment through regular inspections and reviews of operations.

· Support in the dealing of emergencies, unplanned breakdowns and repairs, including the sourcing of spare parts necessary for the upkeep of the equipment.

· Issue / review the necessary qualification documents required for the purchase of new equipment, such as user requirement specifications, design qualification, installation, operational and performance qualifications.

· Ensure compliance with the facility, utilities and equipment qualification schedule, through the execution of the necessary qualification activities, such as performance qualification documents and equipment qualification reviews.

· Maintain an updated equipment review program that complies with all GMP requirements.

Requirements:

· Degree in Engineering or equivalent.

· Minimum of two years experience in an Engineering department.

· Ideally have experience working in a GMP environment but not strictly a requirement.

· Self-motivated and have excellent attention to detail.

· Results oriented and will display an attitude that reflects our Company values.

· Able to work independently and in a team environment.

· Extremely organised.
