
About This Job
The Plant and Facilities manager's role is to design, implement, coordinate, and maintain the infrastructure and equipment of the site in a safe and secure manner. They will manage day-to-day operations of the facility and project work ensuring they are delivered on time and to a cost and quality targets.
Key responsibilities:
· Sets mechanisms and targets for the individual maintenance supervisors to ensure that they deliver enough information to feed into his Business plan.
· Ensures that the maintenance teams’ resources are balanced so that they can deliver their targets.
· Ensures that maintenance teams complement each other and proper handover is maintained.
· Ensures optimum asset utilisation using TPM/lean manufacturing tools to make efficient use of personnel, systems, processes and energy.
· Ensure key engineering/maintenance skills are developed and maintained in the department.
· Control departmental budget.
· Implement and manage projects, including the introduction of new equipment, new processes and improvements.
· Identify training needs and career progression.
· Understand the principles and comply with practices of Lean Manufacturing, 5S and Continuous Improvement.
· Ensure legal compliance in case of PPE and lifting devices.
· Solidly work in line with organisation’s OpEx strategy.
· To always act and behave in a way compliant with all De La Rue company guidelines and policies, especially those relating to Environmental Health and Safety, ethics and codes of conduct
Requirements:
· Undergraduate Degree level or equivalent in a science mathematical or engineering subject.
· Good project management skills. Knowledge of ACAD an advantage.
· Significant experience at this level in a manufacturing environment FMCG. Security print experience would be an advantage.
· Strong people management skills.
· Lean manufacturing background.
· Engineering warrant holder or eligible for one.
