About This Job

De La Rue is growing and we are looking for a Process Engineer to join our growing team

Duties include:

  • Monitor and analyse process performance data and report on key KPIs including OEE, waste, downtime, and yield.
  • Support root cause investigations using structured problem-solving methodologies such as 5 Why, Fishbone, and 8D.
  • Assist with process optimization activities through experimentation, trials, and process parameter adjustments.
  • Support implementation and sustainment of Lean Manufacturing tools including Visual Management, 5S, and Standard Work.
  • Maintain process documentation including SOPs, Work Instructions, Control Plans, and Risk Assessments.
  • Support data integrity initiatives and development of process monitoring systems.
  • Assist in trial planning, execution, and reporting.
  • Collaborate with Production and Maintenance teams in improving machine performance and reliability.
  • Monitor Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA) and support closure of assigned actions.
  • Participate in continuous improvement workshops and cost reduction initiatives.
  • Provide process performance reports and recommendations to site leadership.
  • Support the leadership team, executing the strategy for Currency in terms of the Central Bank and Security Features/Polymer propositions.
  • Provide subject matter expertise to support effective decision making and to provide input as required to the annual strategic planning cycle.

Requirements:

  • Possess a bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent in a related field.
  • Understanding of and ability to communicate World Class Manufacturing techniques including Lean manufacturing, 6 Sigma, SMED, 5S, VSM, 8D etc.
  • Knowledge and experience regarding the application of structured problem-solving methods and the eliminate of waste from process.
  • Knowledge and experience of product development and project management.
  • Strong analytical and data interpretation skills.
  • Will make decisions based on own assessment of visual spoilage. Use of various CI tools and techniques to eliminate/reduce spoil.
  • Communication skills: Excellent ability to listen and advise clearly to others.
