Role Overview
As a Process Engineer, you will play a crucial role in leading cost-reduction initiatives, improving process yields, and optimising machine uptime. You will collaborate closely with the Production Department to coordinate maintenance activities and support the introduction of new processes and machines.
Key Responsibilities
- Cost Reduction Initiatives: Lead projects focused on reducing manufacturing costs and enhancing operational efficiency.
- Process Improvement: Implement strategies to improve process yields and machine uptime, contributing to overall productivity.
- Maintenance Coordination: Communicate directly with the Production Department to coordinate maintenance activities, including breakdown and repair, scheduled, and preventive maintenance.
- New Process Introduction: Support the introduction of new processes and machines in the manufacturing area, ensuring seamless integration and optimal performance.
- Tool Design Optimization: Optimise tool design to improve productivity and yields, enhancing overall manufacturing efficiency.
- Employee Performance Reviews: Conduct performance reviews based on job descriptions to assess competency and knowledge levels within the team.
Qualifications, Skills and Attributes
- Educational Background: Bachelors degree in engineering would be considered an asset.
- Work Experience: Proven work experience as a process engineer, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
- Technical Skills: Advanced technical skills with the ability to analyse and troubleshoot complex issues.
- Analytical Thinking: Strong analytical thinking skills to identify opportunities for process improvement and cost reduction.
- Health and Safety Compliance: Familiarity with state health and safety regulations, ensuring adherence to relevant standards.
- Project Management: Ability to project manage and coordinate maintenance activities effectively.
