
About This Job
The Process Quality Engineer will ensure that manufactured products from the process meet the quality standard agreed with the customer. The selected candidate will also develop quality systems and assist with training of personnel and develop the product and process through continuous improvements activities, corrective, and preventive actions.
Key Accountabilities
- APQP implementer and driver
- Create and update Process FMEAs as required while involvement in job-planning is necessary to focus on prevention mentality
- Create risk mitigation plans based on RPNs and come up with process improvements to reduce the RPNs (Quality Systems)
- Create new quality systems, conduct quality system improvements, create quality gates to reduce process waste and protect the end customer
- Adhere and improve lean manufacturing principles on the shop floor and focus on right-first-time to achieve Build in Quality Level 4.
- Support projects and work to meet the BIQ costs and savings.
- Strive towards a 6-sigma quality level, where appropriate.
- Support in external customer complaints and be able to communicate outside the factory
- Lead QRQC to ensure that the causes of customer dissatisfaction and internal complaints are identified, and robust actions are introduced to stop reoccurrence
- Motivate and lead a group of subordinates aligned with the business strategy. Coaching is expected when required or needed by the subordinates.
- Support the Quality Manager in investigations and follow up any pending Process Quality issues.
- Work with all the sections in the Currency division to compile CoPQ and have respective actions to reduce and eliminate it
- Drive and support problem solving sessions on-line or off-line and drives a zero defects mentality.
Essential Skills, Qualifications and Experience:
- Degree in Engineering
- 6-Sigma Green Belt (will be considered an asset)
- Lean manufacturing background
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Highly Energetic, strong interpersonal and people management skills.
- Proven ability to engage and successfully lead a team of people.
- Continuous improvement mindset – relentless in pursuit of excellence
- Results/delivery driven. Track record of success, flexible in approach and true change agent.
- 3 years’ experience in a similar role
