The Vacancy

The Planner coordinates the flow of work within or between departments through daily/weekly production schedules. Through the issued plan the planner ensures daily production requirements are achieved on time for distribution in a profitable manner. The selected candidate will control intake of orders to maximise capacity in line with customer requirements, maintain local and central systems in order to enable timely invoicing. Locally, operational parameters and production status communications to support the individual Production Departments or link to other plans due to interaction between different business units.

What will you do?

  • Ensure daily production requirements are achieved to meet customer expectation.
  • Analyse and prepare documents needed for production.
  • Provide data analysis and decision making to support Planning Manager and decision making process to guide Procurement for raw material supply.
  • Support Materials Management team to plan and manage finished goods internal movement prior to shipments.
  • Maintain the production schedule and other reports as required.
  • Follow-up as required with all teams to expedite flow of materials and documents to meet production schedule and customer expectation.
  • Manage local and central systems in respect to order intake and delivery to prepare for delivery and invoicing
  • Complete status reports for production progress, work in process and raw material inventory.
  • Interact with shop floor management on a daily basis to resolve issues regarding manufacturing efficiencies or additional information as requested from Operations, Customer Service and Finance.
  • Take ownership and organise job planning meetings in a timely manner to manage any issues prior to job deployment on the floor.
  • Make sure that a workable production programme (both short and long term) that reflects work content, accurate data and agreed availabilities with central planning in respect to Business units is created on time.
  • Ensure that the information for the execution of the production programme is available to all stakeholders when required.
  • Confer with department supervisors / managers to determine status of assigned projects on the go due to short runs and quick changeovers.
  • Assist in the preparation of the Technical Data Manual where missing and keep updated to use at Budget periods including material usage and run rates.
  • Liaise with R&D and Central planning on trials being planned for the Malta Site.
  • Ensures full participation in the performance development review (PDR) process and maintain an up to date record of all training and development activities/programs.

What we are looking for?

  • Experience in data driven decision making.
  • Manufacturing experience desirable but not essential.
  • Ability to organize large amounts of information into a coherent and meaningful format while working on multiple prospects simultaneously.
  • Demonstrate strong interpersonal, communication and presentation skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel. Proficiency in other Microsoft Office products and scheduling software an asset.
  • Degree or similar achievements in Planning, Manufacturing or other areas considered an asset
  • Independent worker who is able to work well with minimal supervision.
  • Fast learner with ability to work well under stress.
