Medichem Manufacturing (Malta) Ltd and Combino Pharm (Malta) Ltd form part of the Medichem group, a Spanish pharmaceutical organization which develops and manufactures both active pharmaceutical ingredients and finished dosage forms.
Medichem specialises in active pharmaceutical ingredients, while Combino Pharm is focused on solid oral generic pharmaceutical products. The organization provides high quality medicinal substances and products for the worldwide market, with special emphasis on Europe and the US.
We are currently looking for a new team member to join Combino Pharm in Malta, for the following Purchasing Officer role:
Responsibilities and Functions:
· Ensure timely delivery of raw materials in accordance with the agreed Production/Planning Working Plan.
· Review Material Requirements Planning (MRP) reports and execute purchasing actions to ensure continuity of supply.
· Monitor inventory levels and purchasing requirements to avoid stock shortages and excessive inventory holding.
· Develop and maintain effective working relationships with suppliers to support operational performance, issue resolution and continuous improvement.
· Ensure supplier certifications, regulatory documentation and other supplier-related records are current and available as required by Quality Assurance, Regulatory Affairs and GMP requirements.
· Manage supplier-related issues, complaints and discrepancies in collaboration with Quality Assurance, Finance, Warehouse and Logistics, ensuring timely resolution and closure
· Prepare and analyse purchasing reports, together with the Purchasing & Logistics Manager, relating to spend, supplier performance, cost savings and procurement activities.
· Review and process purchase requisitions in accordance with procurement procedures and approved authorisation levels.
· Support the maintenance of an updated Approved Suppliers List and follow procedures for the qualification of new suppliers.
· Obtain quotations, evaluate supplier offerings and create purchase orders in accordance with approved procurement procedures.
· Maintain accurate supplier master data, purchasing records and procurement documentation, ensuring completeness, traceability and compliance with company procedures.
· Identify opportunities to improve procurement processes, supplier performance and operational efficiency.
Requirements:
· Diploma or University Degree in a related field.
· Proven experience in the purchasingsector.
· Excellent oral and written communication skills in English.
· Ideally have experience working in a GMP environment but not strictly a requirement.
· Self-motivated and have excellent attention to detail.
· Results oriented and will display an attitude that reflects our Company values.
· Able to work independently and in a team environment.
· Extremely organised.
