Role Overview
\nReporting to the Senior Sales Executive, the Sales Coordinator will be responsible for managing written communication and leads related to accommodation bookings, both for individuals and groups. The role involves upselling services, addressing general enquiries, and ensuring that the hotels' accommodation stock remains available and on sale through direct connections to the hotels’ systems.
Key Responsibilities
\n\nLeisure Groups & M.I.C.E. Segments: Issue quotes and handle requests in collaboration with the Senior Sales Executive while ensuring pricing strategies balance occupancy and ARR to meet KPIs.
\n\tTerms & Conditions: Include appropriate terms and conditions in quotes, tailored to seasonality, market intelligence, and hotel occupancy.
\n\tRoom Stock & Booking Management: Manage room stock availability, follow up on deposit payments, and process booking details accurately.
\n\tGroup Coordination: Communicate group requirements effectively with internal departments via Group Movement Orders (GMO).
\n\tRevenue Tracking: Monitor daily sales pickup, cancellations, and average rates while assessing demand, competition, and market forecasts to inform strategic decisions.
\n\tSupport to Senior Sales Executive: Assist during peak periods, manage stock in their absence, and conduct competition analysis to refine pricing strategies.
\n\tProduct Knowledge: Maintain in-depth knowledge of hotel services, facilities, and local attractions.
\n\tTechnology & Market Development: Research innovative software solutions for upselling and stay updated on emerging technologies to maintain a competitive edge.
\n\tClient Interaction: Assist in greeting and hosting new and existing customers, as well as entertaining agents, suppliers, and key stakeholders.
\n\tReservations Assistance: Support the Reservations Department with extraordinary requests or queries.
\n\tProcess Improvements: Identify and implement enhancements to booking and sales processes.
\n\tIndustry Knowledge & Training: Stay informed by attending workshops, reviewing industry publications, and expanding professional networks.
\n\tFlexibility: Work additional hours when necessary and provide coverage for colleagues during leave periods.
\n\tGeneral Responsibilities: Maintain professionalism, confidentiality, and adherence to company policies, while being open to learning and taking on additional tasks as required.
\n\tQualifications, Skills, and Attributes
\n\nEducation: A relevant qualification in hospitality, business, or a related field.
\n\tExperience: Previous experience in sales coordination, reservations, or a similar role within the hospitality industry.
\n\tLanguage Skills: Excellent command of English is required. The ability to communicate in Maltese would be an asset.
\n\tCommunication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with clients and internal teams.
\n\tInterpersonal Skills: A client-focused approach with excellent relationship-building skills.
\n\tTechnical Skills: Proficiency in hotel management systems and booking platforms is advantageous.
\n\tOrganisation: Strong multitasking abilities with excellent attention to detail and time management skills.
