Role Overview
\n\n
The Second Line IT Systems Administrator will be responsible for managing, troubleshooting, and maintaining IT infrastructure, focusing on second-level support. The successful candidate will have a strong background in Microsoft systems, network management, and experience with cloud technologies such as Microsoft 365, Azure, and SharePoint Online.

Key Responsibilities
\n\n
\n\t
Provide Second Line Support: Deliver advanced troubleshooting and support on workstations, servers, networking equipment, and other technologies.
\n\t
Network Management: Oversee user networks, servers, and both Layer 2 and Layer 3 devices, ensuring smooth operations across the infrastructure.
\n\t
Microsoft Systems Expertise: Utilise knowledge of Microsoft server OS, 365 Suite, Azure, and SharePoint Online to resolve technical issues and support system upgrades.
\n\t
Maintenance & Monitoring: Perform regular maintenance on IT systems and provide proactive solutions for any potential issues.
\n\t
Client-Site Work: Occasionally visit client sites to provide on-site support and troubleshooting as needed.
\n

Qualifications, Skills, and Attributes
\n\n
\n\t
Experience: Over 3 years of experience in a similar role, with expertise in managing networks and systems.
\n\t
Language Skills: Excellent command of English is required to succeed in this role. The ability to communicate in Maltese would be an asset.
\n\t
Certifications: Possession of Cisco CCNA or Microsoft MCP, MCSE, MCSA certifications. Certification in Microsoft cloud technologies is considered an asset.
\n\t
Driving Licence: A valid driving licence is required for travel to client sites.
\n\t
Communication Skills: Strong communication skills, able to explain complex technical issues to non-technical staff.
\n\t
Interpersonal Skills: Able to work well within a team, offering support and contributing to collaborative efforts.
\n\t
Technical Skills: Proficient in troubleshooting Microsoft systems, managing user networks, and handling Layer 2 and 3 devices.
\n\t
Organisation: Must be meticulous, organised, and able to handle multiple tasks effectively.
\n\t
Self-Motivated: Demonstrates a proactive approach, willing to take initiative and work independently when needed.
\n\t
Problem-Solving: A logical thinker with a structured approach to problem-solving. Capable of thinking outside the box to find innovative solutions.
