Financial Intelligence Analysis Unit (FIAU)

&lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt;The Role&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt;​&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;The FIAU is seeking to recruit a Security Officer to join the People &amp;amp; Corporate Services section.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt;​&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Duties and responsibilities:&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;ul&gt;
&lt;li&gt;Safeguarding employees, visitors, and office property from theft, vandalism, or physical harm.&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;Opening and closing the main door of the premises at established times.&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;Access control of visitors / suppliers / contractors and evicting trespassers.&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;Accompanying any external visitors/ suppliers/ contractors.&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;Responsible for key management.&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;Receiving and screening mail and packages.&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;Conducting regular patrols to check for security breaches, unauthorised access, or safety hazards.&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;Carrying out inspections.&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;Defusing conflict situations.&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;Responding to alarms, disturbances, or suspicious activities promptly, day or night.&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;Providing first-line intervention in medical emergencies, such as first aid or CPR.&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;Investigating incidents and generating incident reports.&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;Monitoring electronic security equipment including, but not limited to, screening equipment, CCTV, fire control panel and intruder detection system.&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;Completing daily and periodic reports and maintaining site registers in line with procedures.&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;Assisting with the enforcement of any applicable health protocols that may be in force from time to time.&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;Coordinating and assisting as necessary during emergency situations.&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;Coordinating with local police for specific threats or incidents.&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;Able to work on a flexible roster which will include shifts between Monday and Sunday, day or night.&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;To carry out any other job-related duties as may be assigned by the Director, Deputy Director, and Section’s Head.&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;/ul&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt;​&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Requirements&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt;​&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;ul&gt;
&lt;li&gt;In Possession of a Private Guard License.&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;A minimum of 3 years’ experience working as a security officer in a similar environment.&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;Positive and helpful, with excellent customer care and a courteous attitude.&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;Certification in first aid including use of AED.&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;Certification in firefighting.&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;Effective communication skills in Maltese &amp;amp; English.&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;/ul&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt;​&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/p&gt;
