Founded in 2001, ICI Limited is one of Malta's leading multi-discipline group of companies, active in construction, civil engineering, design and build, real estate, and a range of other industries. We are currently looking for an Senior Accountant to join our team and contribute to the company's day-to-day accounting function.
This is a hands-on role within the finance arm of a busy, well-established business. You will work closely with management and with our external accountants and auditors.
What you will be doing
- Posting invoices, receipts, payments, and journal entries.
- Preparing bank, supplier, and customer reconciliations.
- Keeping the debtors and creditors ledgers up to date, preparing payment runs, and following up on receivables.
- Involved in the preparation of VAT returns and assisting with other key reporting deadlines.
- Assisting the payroll function and allocating costs across projects accordingly.
- Maintaining complete and accurate accounting records up to trial balance.
What we are looking for
- Ideal candidates would hold a minimum A-Level qualification in accounting, an advanced diploma, or are currently in the process of completing an ACCA qualification.
- Solid hands-on accounting experience, ideally within a similarly fast-paced industry, will be considered an advantage.
- A good working knowledge of reconciliations, ledger maintenance, and Maltese VAT.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software (experience with Sage, Xero, or SFM is an asset).
- An organised, dependable person who takes ownership of their work and meets deadlines in a timely manner.
- Fluent in both English and Maltese and able to work both independently and within a team.
