Role Overview \nOur Client is seeking an experienced and driven Senior Audit Manager to lead the Audit team, manage a large and varied portfolio of clients, and support the Director of Audit in meeting departmental objectives. This leadership role involves directing audit engagements from planning through execution and completion, while maintaining exceptional service standards and regulatory compliance.

Key Responsibilities

Audit Engagement Management: Lead audit assignments from start to finish, ensuring proper planning, execution, and completion in line with audit standards and deadlines.
\n\t
Technical Auditing: Conduct audits of financial statements across various sectors, applying a strong understanding of ISAs and ensuring sufficient and appropriate audit evidence is gathered.
\n\t
Portfolio Oversight: Manage a diverse client portfolio, monitor audit progress, and allocate resources efficiently to meet project requirements.
\n\t
Team Leadership: Guide, coach, and oversee audit teams, acting as a point of reference and ensuring high-quality output and compliance.
\n\t
Client Relationship Management: Build and sustain strong relationships with clients through regular meetings, status updates, and discussion of audit findings.

Qualifications, Skills, and Attributes
\n\n
\n\t
Education: ACCA or University of Malta degree in Accountancy.
\n\t
Experience: Minimum of 4 years in a senior audit role, with demonstrated experience managing audit teams and diverse client portfolios.
\n\t
Language Skills: Excellent command of English is required to succeed in this role. The ability to communicate in Maltese would be an asset.
\n\t
Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication, able to convey complex concepts with clarity.
\n\t
Interpersonal Skills: Ability to lead and motivate teams while fostering a collaborative environment.
\n\t
Technical Skills: Proficient in IFRSs, GAPSME, ISAs, MS Excel, and familiar with accounting software such as SAGE and XERO.
\n\t
Organisation: Strong project and time management skills with the ability to prioritise tasks and meet strict deadlines.
\n\t
Self-Motivated: Proactive, results-oriented, and committed to continuous learning and improvement.
\n\t
Problem-Solving: Analytical mindset with the ability to identify issues, assess risk, and implement effective solutions.
