Role Overview \nThe Senior Finance Officer will be a key member of the Finance Department, responsible for ensuring the accuracy and integrity of accounting records related to accounts payable, monthly management accounts, financial statements, and VAT/Tax compliance. This role involves a broad range of accounting and clerical duties essential for maintaining financial controls and supporting senior management reporting.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Reporting: Prepare monthly financial and operational statements to facilitate comprehensive reviews of the company's financial health.
\n\t
Management Support: Assist in compiling reports for senior management, providing accurate and timely financial information.
\n\t
Balance Sheet Review: Conduct monthly assessments of balance sheets to ensure accuracy and completeness.
\n\t
Accounts Payable Monitoring: Review accounts payable ageing reports monthly and oversee timely payments to suppliers in line with agreed terms.
\n\t
Bank Reconciliation: Perform bank reconciliations to maintain accurate financial records.
\n\t
Interdepartmental Collaboration: Work closely with various departments to gather, interpret, and validate financial data compliant with fiscal and regulatory standards.
\n\t
Record Keeping: Maintain and organise accounting and bookkeeping records and reports in an efficient manner.
\n\t
Statistical Reporting: Prepare relevant statistics and surveys as requested by national authorities.
\n\t
Inventory Management: Conduct physical inventory counts and ensure proper recording and reporting related to stock.
\n\t
Audit Coordination: Liaise with external auditors to ensure timely and precise preparation and execution of statutory audits.

Qualifications, Skills, and Attributes

Education: Currently pursuing ACCA qualification.
\n\t
Experience: Proven experience working with accounting software and MS Office applications, especially Excel.
\n\t
Language Skills: Excellent command of English is essential. Proficiency in Maltese would be advantageous.
\n\t
Communication Skills: Strong ability to communicate clearly and effectively with team members and management.
\n\t
Interpersonal Skills: Capable of working collaboratively within a team environment.

Technical Skills: Proficient in financial reporting, reconciliations, and audit preparation.
