Qualifications & Experience
\r\n
\r\n
Strong command of the English language with exceptional technical report writing skills.
\r\n
Possession of a 3rd or 2nd Engineer Certificate of Competency (CoC) under STCW or a relevant qualification such as a Bachelor's Degree in Marine Engineering, Naval Architecture, or a related discipline.
\r\n
A minimum of 3 years of experience as a Ship Surveyor or in a similar role. Candidates with experience in the following will be given preference:
\r\n
\r\n
Sea time as an engineering officer.
\r\n
Dry-dock operations.
\r\n
Technical Superintendent roles.
\r\n
Hands-on experience with machinery and propulsion systems.
\r\n
\r\n
Basic knowledge of naval architecture and/or proficiency in AutoCAD for preparing basic drawings is required.
\r\n
Age Requirement: Candidates must be between 25 and 45 years of age.
\r\n
\r\n
Key Responsibilities
\r\n
\r\n
Conduct surveys for commercial and private vessels/yachts, including condition assessments, valuation surveys, pre-purchase inspections, and insurance claims related to hull and machinery.
\r\n
Perform COS, ITC, ILLC, and other statutory surveys and certificates, as well as simplified stability tests, freeboard assignments, and related reporting.
\r\n
Carry out Moisture and UTM for GRP, UTM, and MPI for steel vessels/yachts.
\r\n
Execute Draft, Cargo, Container, P&I, Damage, and Accident surveys and investigations.
\r\n
\r\n
Other Requirements
\r\n
\r\n
A valid international driving license, clean police conduct certificate, and a recent medical certificate are mandatory.
\r\n
Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
\r\n
Ability to work independently with a high level of responsibility and discipline. Candidates should possess a friendly demeanor and a customer-focused approach.
\r\n
Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and public holidays, when required. Travel abroad and offshore assignments may also be necessary.
