A taste of what you’ll do The Site Reliability Engineer will be responsible for the technical design, planning, implementation, and the highest level of performance tuning and recovery procedures for mission critical systems. Other responsibilities include the troubleshooting of hardware, software, and networking issues, as well as ensuring that all computing operations run with optimal performance and security.

Ensure high availability and acceptable levels of performance of mission critical infrastructure resources
\n
\n
\n
Continuously analyse system performance in production and proactively identify areas in need of optimisation
\n
\n
\n
Own the process for responding to support escalations
\n
\n
\n
Develop procedures to maintain security and protect systems from unauthorised use
\n
\n
\n
Develop procedures, programs and documentation for backup and restoration of host operating systems and host-based applications.
\n
\n
\n
Develop and maintaining adequate system monitoring and alerting to maximise benefits and minimise impacts on the end user experience.
\n
\n
\n
Be responsible for resolving escalated service issues.
\n
\n
\n
Provide technical services and support for the following areas:
\n
\n
\n
Internal systems, cloud, and network infrastructure.
Remote monitoring and management of system alerts and notifications
\n
\n
\n
Participating in the administration and maintenance of the remote monitoring and management system: update agent scripts, respond to alerts, monitor dashboard, and periodic system review.
\n
\n
\n
Participate in post incident reviews
\n
\n
\n
\n
Who and what we are after?
\n
\n
Proven experience as a Site Reliability Engineer, DevOps, System Administrator, or similar role for at least 3 years.
\n
\n
\n
Working knowledge of Cloud environments and respective technologies (e.g. AWS).
\n
\n
\n
Experience with databases, proxies, networks (LAN, WAN) and patch management.
\n
\n
\n
Proficiency with configuration management tools.
\n
\n
\n
Proficiency with log management and visualisation (ELK stack).
\n
\n
\n
Proficiency with configuration management tools.
\n
\n
\n
Proficiency with monitoring solutions.
\n
\n
\n
Proficiency with CI/CD pipelines.
\n
\n
\n
Proficiency with containerisation and orchestration (Docker, etc).
\n
\n
\n
Availability outside of working hours to resolve emergency issues promptly.
\n
\n
\n
A working knowledge of IT operating systems, particularly Linux and Windows.
\n
\n
\n
Knowledge of system security (e.g. intrusion detection systems) and data backup/recovery
\n
\n
\n
Ability to create scripts and integrate with automated solutions such as Rundeck, Ansible or Docker.
\n
\n
\n
BSc in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related discipline; professional certifications are considered as a plus.
