Role Overview \nThe selected candidate will be responsible for leading the upkeep, maintenance, and operations of public parks and spaces. The role involves working closely with various stakeholders, supervising teams, and ensuring the efficient delivery of services that enhance the user experience across all managed sites.

Key Responsibilities

Operational Planning: Support the introduction of time- and cost-efficient methods for planning and overseeing park maintenance and service operations.
\n\t
Team Management: Lead and supervise teams involved in the upkeep and ongoing maintenance of public green areas.
\n\t
Preventive Programmes: Assist in the implementation of proactive upkeep and maintenance schedules to enhance selected public spaces.
\n\t
Programme Oversight: Manage all maintenance activities, ensuring alignment with operational goals and service standards.
\n\t
Documentation and Costing: Collaborate on the preparation of maintenance specifications, costing, and other documentation, including emergency management requirements.
\n\t
Quality Assurance: Ensure all work is delivered to high standards with a focus on skill development, timeliness, and effectiveness.
\n\t
Stakeholder Engagement: Build and maintain strong working relationships with key stakeholders to ensure successful execution of maintenance programmes.
\n\t
Cross-Functional Support: Provide operational support to senior leadership and contribute to broader organisational goals.

Qualifications, Skills, and Attributes
\n\n
\n\t
Education: A minimum MQF Level 5 qualification in Management or a related field, recognised by the MFHEA. Candidates without formal qualifications but with 5 years of relevant managerial or supervisory experience will also be considered.
\n\t
Experience: At least 2 years in a managerial role, ideally in public operations, facilities management, or environmental services.
\n\t
Language Skills: Excellent command of English is required to succeed in this role. The ability to communicate in Maltese would be an asset.
\n\t
Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills to liaise effectively with teams and stakeholders.
\n\t
Interpersonal Skills: Ability to build strong relationships and foster collaboration across teams.
\n\t
Technical Skills: Familiarity with project coordination, preventive maintenance planning, and operational documentation.
\n\t
Organisation: Excellent planning and organisational skills to manage multiple initiatives and resources simultaneously.
\n\t
Self-Motivated: A self-directed professional with high standards and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
\n\t
Problem-Solving: Capacity to identify challenges and implement practical, timely solutions.

Other: A valid Driving Licence Category B is required.
