We are looking for dedicated and skilled professionals to join the Horizon Projects team in Malta. We have openings for the following positions:
- Multi-Skilled Tradespersons
- Gypsum Installers
Main Purpose of the Job
The Skilled Worker is responsible for performing a variety of construction-related tasks, including surface preparation, material handling, and installation of finishes such as tiling and gypsum. You will work closely with site supervisors and team members to ensure the timely and accurate completion of projects, maintaining a strong commitment to quality and workplace safety.
What You Will Be Doing
Key Responsibilities/Duties:
- Prepare materials required to complete assigned tasks.
- Erect working platforms as needed for task execution.
- Repair or remove old surfaces efficiently.
- Measure areas to estimate material requirements and prepare purchase orders.
- Mark finish floor levels and level mortar using straightedges.
- Read and interpret shop drawings.
- Assist with deliveries and handling of construction materials.
- Spread Torba/underlay and prepare floors/walls for tiling or gypsum installation.
- Install and finish all types of wall and floor tiles as per project specifications.
- Cut tiles and marble accurately.
- Apply grouting and ensure the proper finishing of surfaces.
- Clean waste materials and maintain a tidy work environment.
- Carry out general labouring duties as required.
- Undertake additional tasks as assigned by management.
Health & Safety Responsibilities
- Follow provided training when using tools and equipment.
- Take reasonable care of your own and others’ health and safety.
- Comply with all health and safety guidelines and report potential hazards.
- Immediately inform supervisors of any risks or inadequate safety precautions.
Who We Are Looking For
Essential
- Proven experience (3+ years) in a similar skilled worker role within construction or finishing trades.
- Strong knowledge of tiling, surface preparation, and finishing techniques.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and plans.
- Excellent attention to detail and workmanship.
- Physical fitness and the ability to handle manual labour.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- A valid driving license and own transport.
Desirable
- Experience working on residential, commercial, or hotel projects.
- Familiarity with local construction standards and procedures.
- Additional trade skills such as plastering or carpentry.
