Role Overview \nThe Solutions Architect will play a pivotal role in shaping the enterprise architecture landscape by designing integrated solutions that support projects, products, systems, and shared services. Acting as a bridge between development teams and enterprise architects, the role ensures that all implementations align with business objectives, adhere to governance frameworks, and maintain optimal performance, security, and scalability across the organisation’s technology ecosystem.

Key Responsibilities
\n\n
\n\t
Solution Design: Develop detailed solution designs for development teams, guiding implementation while ensuring seamless integration across systems.
\n\t
Technical Documentation: Prepare comprehensive documentation including system architecture diagrams, API interfaces, data models, and process flows.
\n\t
Technical Evaluation: Assess and select suitable technical solutions and platforms that meet performance, scalability, and security requirements.
\n\t
Lifecycle Support: Advise business owners and IT custodians on product lifecycle decisions, including maintenance, refresh, or retirement of systems, processes, and data.
\n\t
Technology Monitoring: Stay informed on emerging technologies such as cloud computing, AI, and fintech platforms, evaluating their potential within the organisation’s IT environment.
\n\t
Cross-Functional Communication: Facilitate clear communication across IT teams, clarifying solutions, validating assumptions, and reaching consensus on final designs.
\n\t
Performance and Governance: Ensure solutions are cost-efficient, high-performing, secure, and compliant with enterprise architecture and information security policies.
\n\t
Additional Duties: Perform other responsibilities as required by management to support enterprise architecture objectives.

Qualifications, Skills, and Attributes
\n\n
\n\t
Education: MQF Level 5 Diploma in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field and 4 years of work experience; or MQF Level 6 Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related field and 2 years of work experience; or 5 years proven work experience in Information Technology.
\n\t
Experience: Minimum of 2–5 years of proven experience in Information Technology, with prior exposure to solution architecture, software development, and enterprise technology landscapes. Conversant with Applications Server Technology.
\n\t
Certifications: Havin at least one of the following certifications: Spring Certified Professional; Microsoft Azure Solutions Architect; Microsoft Certified Solutions Developer.
\n\t
Language Skills: Excellent command of English is required. Ability to communicate in Maltese is advantageous.
\n\t
Communication Skills: Strong ability to convey complex technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
\n\t
Interpersonal Skills: Collaborative and flexible, with the ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams.
\n\t
Technical Skills: Expertise in Agile Practices, cloud platforms, integration paradigms (batch, messaging, REST, web services), server technologies, virtualisation, data centre solutions, databases, and networking. Knowledge of SDLC and software development practices.
\n\t
Organisation: Strong organisational skills to manage multiple projects, documentation, and design processes simultaneously.
\n\t
Self-Motivated: Highly responsible, committed, and proactive in learning and applying new technologies.
\n\t
Problem-Solving: Capable of analysing complex problems, evaluating alternatives, and delivering well-structured technical solutions.
