Role Overview \nThe Tax Associate will form part of the Client's tax advisory division, supporting both local and international clients with expert tax guidance. This role involves direct tax compliance, the preparation of formal tax opinions, and advisory services that support clients in meeting fiscal obligations while optimising their tax structures.

Key Responsibilities

Direct Tax Support: Provide assistance in handling direct tax matters for a diverse portfolio of clients.
\n\t
Tax Advisory: Prepare comprehensive written tax opinions based on client needs and current legislation.
\n\t
Tax Compliance: Assist in preparing income tax returns, claims for refunds, and other compliance requirements.
\n\t
Client and Auditor Liaison: Act as a point of contact for auditors and clients in relation to tax matters.
\n\t
Fiscal Structuring: Offer advice on efficient tax structures and fiscal obligations, including individual tax residency schemes.

Qualifications, Skills, and Attributes
\n\n
\n\t
Education: ACCA qualification or an equivalent recognised accounting or tax certification.
\n\t
Experience: A minimum of one to two years of relevant experience in taxation, ideally within a professional services environment.
\n\t
Language Skills: Excellent command of both Maltese and English is required to succeed in this role. The ability to communicate in Italian would be an asset.
\n\t
Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex information clearly and concisely.
\n\t
Interpersonal Skills: A professional, client-focused demeanour with the ability to build lasting relationships.
\n\t
Technical Skills: Sound understanding of both local and international tax legislation and compliance requirements.
