The FIAU is seeking to recruit a Team Lead to join the Business Applications Team. This Team supports timely and effective decision making across the authority by empowering management and the team with the right data-related processes, KPIs, dashboards, analytics, and risk profiling.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Leading the Business Applications team’s day to day operations by establishing Team Sprints, following progress and guiding the team members to successful completion of their tasks.
Ensuring quality of service and compliance according to industry standards (ISO27001:2022).
Project manage and lead the FIAUs Strategy projects involving the Business Applications Team whilst keeping in-line with the project timelines and technical documentation required.
Reporting to the Head of section on a regular basis on the work in-progress and work completed.
Coordinating team resources to ensure the continuity of technical support and the FIAUs Systems.
Provide technical guidance and mentoring to the Business Applications Team members.
Provide technical sessions to the FIAU staff to ensure compliance with procedures.
Coordination of technical projects with 3rd party suppliers whilst ensuring proper requirement gathering and completion of projects.
Lead the team by example whilst ensuring team spirit and instilling respect towards colleagues.
Developing the team members to achieve more and pushing the team to new heights.
Sharing all technical aspects with your Head and team members via WIKI documentation and verbal communication.
Processes, interprets, and documents business processes, products, services, and software through analysis of data.
Identifies business needs, assesses processes, and recommends solutions to improve efficiency and effectiveness within an organization.
Analyses and assesses current business processes, systems, and structures.
Providing reliable guidance in decision making for the future through observing data which reflects the behaviour of the business in the past.
Assisting in developing scripts in T-SQL, C#, PowerShell or Phyton and small applications to aid automation.
Assisting in the development of API integrations with the FIAUs core systems and 3rd party data sources.
Maintaining, enhancing and creating workflows, functions and configurations within the relevant system environments.
Working closely with end-users to maintain, optimize, create, test and manage complex workflow rules, data validation, and triggers.
Thoroughly documenting implemented workflows and data maps including any technical considerations.
Understanding any new data maps required, with proposed solutions and feasibility analysis.
Delivering data collection and supervisory system projects on schedule and with high quality.
Coordinating with the technology and project management teams to ensure total product quality and integration, with all relevant applications and processes.
Staying up-to-date on new system features, key user pain points and functionality.
Coordinating with technical teams for the management of web servers, back-end operational database environments, file sharing services and other technologies as needed.
Supporting the Business Intelligence and Analytics teams in understanding the operational data architecture and informing/involving them with any ongoing changes for the purpose of delivering best-in-class insights and analytics to business users.
Performing daily administrative tasks and addressing any production support issues as may be required.
Within the context of the business applications systems, collaborating with the BCP team for the planning, maintenance, and execution of the DR plan when the BCP has been triggered, even when out of office hours.
Assisting with the assessment of the Business Continuity implications of proposed technological and organisational changes and coordinating any revisions to the Business Continuity Plan and Disaster Recovery Plan.
Training the Unit’s employees with specific Business Continuity responsibilities in relation the business applications, to fulfil their assigned responsibilities of the Business Continuity Plan and Disaster Recovery Plan.
Ensuring that all technical components of the Business Continuity Plan and Disaster Recovery Plan, within the context of the business applications, are successfully tested at least annually or whenever significant changes are made to those components.
Perform any other related duties that may be assigned by the Technology and Information Security management from time to time.
Any other duties assigned by the Director, Deputy Director, Head, Senior Manager and Manager from time to time.
Requirements:
An MQF level 6 qualification in Computer Science or an IT related subject, coupled with 5 years’ experience (incl. 1 in a senior role) relevant to this post, OR an MQF level 5 qualification in Computer Science or an IT related subject, coupled with 7 years’ experience relevant to this post;
Demonstrate experience in working in a senior role and leading a team of IT professionals.
Be proactive and showing a positive attitude towards the duties and colleagues;
Confident in managing highly complex processes, involving cross-functional teams;
Confident and articulate communicator, capable of driving strong collaboration across multi-disciplinary functions;
Have strong analytical, problem solving and planning skills;
