Role Overview
The Assistant Accountant will support the Finance Department, ensuring accuracy in financial transactions and compliance with internal processes. This role involves working closely with suppliers, managing invoices, conducting reconciliations, and assisting senior finance staff with various tasks. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, proactive, and capable of working in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
Supplier Communication: Engage with suppliers to ensure smooth transactions.
Invoice Management: Review and process supplier invoices, ensuring appropriate documentation and approvals.
Payment Processing: Issue payment runs and perform supplier reconciliations.
Reconciliations: Conduct finance-related reconciliations and report internally and externally as needed.
Journal Posting: Post journals in the accounting software and maintain accurate records.
Finance Support: Assist the Finance Department with various tasks and ad-hoc requests from senior staff.
Qualifications, Skills and Attributes
Experience: Minimum of 2 years in a similar role.
Deadline Management: Ability to meet agreed deadlines efficiently.
Task Ownership: Capable of taking ownership of tasks individually and as part of a team.
Work Environment: Able to thrive in a fast-paced setting.
Relationship Building: Effective in establishing relationships within the team and the wider business.
Communication Skills: Excellent communication and organisational skills, proficient in dealing with internal and external counterparts.
Technical Proficiency: Competent in Excel, general IT, and accounting software.
Language Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
Industry Experience: Previous experience in the aviation industry is preferred.
Personal Attributes: Confident, motivated, self-sufficient, flexible, proactive, emotionally intelligent, and detail-oriented.
